Panama City Beach
Located on northwest Florida’s Gulf coast, Bay County is made of several cities including the popular Panama City and Panama City Beach. Among others are Lynn Haven, Callaway and Southport. The county was created in 1913 and was named after the St. Andrews Bay, as well as multiple other bays and bayous scattered across our area.
Homeowners enjoy the area for its natural surroundings, diverse culture, amazing nightlife and incredible dining. Encompassed by the Gulf of Mexico, one of the main attractions is our beaches. Panama City Beach has been named the “World’s Most Beautiful Beaches” multiple times. With over 27 miles of white sugary sand, it’s no wonder why residents are so proud of this slogan.

Redevelopment
Over the past several years, Panama City Beach has seen a drastic change in not only its appearance, but the real estate market as well. There are great opportunities out there for anyone looking for homes, condos, town homes, and large tracts of land – even commercial real estate. Currently under construction are huge improvements to our area. Our local Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has a master plan to make Panama City Beach a “walkable community.” What this means are more sidewalks, bike paths and incredible streetscapes to promote what Bay County is all about… outdoor activities.
Things To Do
Speaking of outdoor activities, Bay County is famous for boating, fishing, golfing, snorkeling and camping. Places like the Bay Point Marina bring large crowds of boaters with their world-class services and events like the Billfish Invitational Tournament. Are you a golfing enthusiast? Panama City Beach and surround areas are home to world-class golfing like the Jack Niclaus designed courses and various top-notch courses in The Glades and Sunny Hills communities. When you’re in Bay County, it’s tee-time!

Panama City Real Estate
There are beautiful communities located all over the area and they are
as diverse as our culture. From nature-themed subdivisions like Wild
Heron, to majestic bayside communities like Dolphin Bay, the housing
market couldn’t be better.
The most famous real estate aspect of Panama City Beach, are the beach front condominiums. Many absentee-owners in Georgia, Alabama and even New York enjoy owning condos in Panama City Beach because of their income potential. If you own a condo in Panama City Beach, chances are there is an on-site rental office or at least one close to the development that you can rent through while you are away. This process can generate an owner $13,000 to even $50,000 per year.
Investors and large corporations are jumping into Panama City real estate due to the announcement of the Bay County International Airport. Even CNN recognized the impact the new airport will have on the area and projected an appreciation of 72% over the next five years. Additionally, new multi-million dollar attractions are heading our way including the almost complete Pier Park, the National Audubon Society Nature Center and more.
Getting Around Panama City
Our roadways are fairly easy to navigate. Panama City Beach consists more or less of four main roads. These roads include Panama City Beach Parkway (a.k.a. Hwy 98 or Backbeach Road), Hutchison Boulevard (a.k.a. Middle Beach Rd), Front Beach Road and Thomas Drive. Panama City Beach Parkway and Front Beach Road are the longest and most traveled of all roads in Panama City Beach, stretching from the Hathaway Bridge all the way to Rosemary Beach.
Panama City is easy to navigate as well. The most prominent roads are 15th Street (a.k.a Highway 98), 23rd Street, Highway 77 and Highway 231. All roads are very consistent with vehicle travel. One of the largest intersections in Panama City is where 23rd Street and Highway 77 meet.
