My Philosophy
”Treat others as you want to be treated” has been my life motto. Whether it’s a family member, a friend or the person next to me in line at the store, how I meet the world in which I live tells my story. Each encounter, divinely placed, allows me to put my heart and soul into the situation. A person may forget what I said, but that person will never forget how I made them feel.
Education
During my early years I had the benefit of a church school education. The discipline learned there enabled me to attain an Associate of Arts degree at Gulf Coast Community College, while helping my husband embark on his career. Learning is a continuing process and presently I am pursuing my Bachelors Degree in the Florida University System. I have been blessed with four children, Sarah, Scott, Allison and Carter, who have added much love and excitement to my days. My volunteerism as a member of school advisory councils, a room mother, a cheerleading coach, a school chaperone and a campaign coordinator, has broadened my knowledge and has strengthened my commitment to my family and the importance of community service.
Experience
The City of Brotherly Love was the place of my birth and as the youngest of six children, I learned quickly that we derive our strength from our family and from the values they teach us. My parents were blue colored workers who were dedicated to providing for our needs. It was this example that influenced my work ethic. I shared my family’s love of sports while working for the Philadelphia Phillies and as a cheerleader for the Philadelphia Eagles (back when cheerleaders wore clothes!). These opportunities helped me develop my love of people and my enthusiasm to live life to its fullest.
Other Information and Interests
While attending community college, I met the love of my life, Glenn, to whom I have been married to for 34 years. Together we have shared many adventures. We traveled south to Auburn, Alabama, where I worked under the legendary Shug Jordan as Glenn attended AU. His pursuit of a law degree landed us in Tallahassee where I was on the staff for two governors, Governor Reuben Askew and Governor Bob Graham. But it was our vacations during college years (tent camping at state parks) that introduced us to the "World's Most Beautiful Beaches," Panama City Beach FL! It was love at first sight so in 1979 we made Panama City Beach our home.
In my free time I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life, church activities, playing tennis, and traveling on the back of my husband's Honda Valkrie to places like Montana and Nova Scotia. A true testimony to my level of endurance!
