Who’s A Winner In Recession: First-Time Home Buyers

Right now, it’s so obvious that first-time home buyers are the winners in the recession. Mortgage rates are at an all-time low, housing is incredibly affordable, and first-time home buyers are taking notice. The National Association of REALTORS(R) is reporting that first-time home buyers accounted for fourty-five percent (45%) of home sales from the beginning of the year to July. Christine Fahlund, a senior financial planner at T. Rowe Price, says “This is the time to be in the market,” which she added especially “if you’re young.”
