2009 Lobster Fest Coming September 17th – 20th

If you enjoy lobster the 20th Annual Lobster Festival & Tournament is coming up. In fact, it’s almost upon us. Starting tomorrow, Schooners and The Last Local Beach Club will be hosting the all-out lobster-fest and will last September 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th. Residents and visitors alike will be able to compete in numerous categories including the “Big 6,” “Spiny Lobster” and “Shovelnose.” Prizes will be awarded.
But, if you’re looking for something unique, Schooners will be attempting to beat the Guiness Book of World Record for the longest Lobster Roll. At the moment the record stands at 65-feet. Schooners will be going for 70-feet! Once the event is over, you’ll be able to take a bite out of history by purchasing a slice of the Lobster Roll that will benefit the Florida Aquatic Marine Institute along with the Toys for Tots foundation.
