Panama City Market Conditions Update For May 2009

By Joanie Miller | June 12, 2009

graphMan, we’re on a roll! The upward trend in sales continues again in our real estate market report for May 2009. The number of sales continues to rise ending at 211 units. Although it is lower than the May 2008 statistics, it’s a welcoming sign of things to come. What might that be? Bottoming out, of course. I say that for two reasons: (1) we’re seeing more and more buyers returning to the Panama City real estate market as seen in the number of sales (oh, and the number of inquiries we’ve been seeing lately), and (2) consumer confidence continues to grow to it’s highest peak since September of last year.

The number of new listings where down in May from April ’09 as well as May ’08. There was an increase in the number of contingent listings over the previous month and year, and pending listings were about the same in both cases, however a tiny bit less than the previous month.

For a complete breakdown of all the real estate statistics for May 2009, head over to the Market Report and Statistics page of our website.

Legend for graphs: A – Active Listings, N – New Listings, C – Contingent Listings, P – Pending Listings, S – Sold Listings, E – Expired Listings, W – Withdrawn Listings
