Panama City Beach New Year’s Beach Ball Drop

This year kicked off a new tradition at Pier Park where they will drop a ball like they do at Times Square in New York. The only difference is that it’s a beach ball, naturally. The event was hosted by Maragritaville and Pier Park and we’ve heard thousands of people showed up. What surprised us the most were the amount of visitors that came from out of state to visit. We saw people from Ohio, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Canada, even people from California.
It’s such a wonderful feeling knowing Panama City Beach is growing up into the city we’ve all dreamed of, and we couldn’t have done it without Pier Park. The shopping destination of northwest Florida has been so good to us, providing shopping, entertainment and great dining experiences.
I wanted to share a magnificent video made by Jason Koertge. The video documents the entire new years eve of 2009 at Pier Park. You’ll get to hear from the Director of Marketing at Pier Park, visitors, and owners of various establishments in Pier Park. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.
